Each year when holiday season sneaks up on me out of nowhere, I find myself in a major panic trying to find THE perfect gift for my parents. First of all, they don’t really “need” anything. Secondly, they have done so much for me and always seem to find the perfect gifts for me year after year and I yearn to be able to do the same in return. But in true Rosey Kate fashion, I always end up buying clothes & accessories because that is what I know and love, and you can never really have too much of either, right?!
This year, I’m making a conscious effort to think outside the box and gift my parents something different. These are my top picks! Hope these help you in your shopping efforts! Let me know if you have any other creative ideas too!
- Keurig Single Serve Coffee, Latte & Cappuccino Maker – Everyone has a Keurig now. BUT, have you seen this new 3-in-1 that makes not only single serve coffee, but also lattes and cappuccino? The perfect way to make sure everyone is caffeinated in their preferred style.
- Nest Thermostat – Saves money, controlled from anywhere, easy to install. We love our Nest and love the fact that we can control it from our app, so if we are already in bed but feeling too warm or too chilly, we can adjust accordingly. Truth be told, I didn’t fully commit to learning how to use it in the beginning. For a long time, whenever I was needing the temperature changed and Eric was traveling, I would text him and ask him to adjust it for me. Whoops. But, pretty convenient right?
- Roly Rocks Glasses – Chic yet manly, this edgy silhouette has a slightly rounded bottom that gently rocks without tipping when put down. Upgrade Dad’s barware with a striking conversational piece.
- Instant Pot – If you didn’t jump on the bandwagon last year with Instant Pot, don’t worry, its not too late. Every member in my family got one last year and I must say, it is all its cracked up to be. I had never personally used a pressure cooker, but once I started using it, I never looked back. Make your favorite meals up to 70% quicker with 15 smart programs.
- Electric Air Fryer – Using just a tablespoon of oil (or less!), fry, grill, bake or roast anything from chicken to burgers to fries! I’ve never used one but at this attractive price point, might just scoop one up for the ‘rents AND myself.
- Ancestry DNA – Gift your parents something different this year with a unique, interactive experience. Results include information about geographic origins across 350 regions – a great starting point for family history research! I’m super excited to gift this to my parents – feels like a fun science experiment, LOL.
- YETI Hopper – By now you’ve surely seen something from the YETI family, likely the tumblers that keep cold drinks cold or hot drinks hot all.day.long. Without a doubt the best coolers out there. This one is small enough to cart around to any event but powerful enough to keep your drinks cool.
- Long Stem Wine Glasses – For the Olivia Pope lovin’ mommas out there. Drink wine in style like Liv herself. What could be more classy than an elongated stem over 10″ tall that can hold 23 oz of wine?? Not included: Fitz.
- Fur Throw – This premium faux fur throw screams luxury and comes in 3 colors to compliment any room. Bonus points: embroider a corner with an initial for personalized warmth.
- Together is my favorite place to be sign – Please find me one person that doesn’t love Chip & JoJo. I didn’t think so. This Magnolia original is sure to put a smile on mom & dad’s face every time they see it and give them all the Fixer Upper feels – RIP 🙁
