I love the start of a new year; it always feels like a new chapter as well as time to reflect on the past year. I don’t hate the word resolution, but for some reasons it feels like it has a negative connotation, even though it most definitely does not have to be associated with anything negative. I have always preferred to look at them as goals. As I was thinking about my goals for 2020, I decided to break them into personal and professional categories.
Personal Goals for 2020
-
less clutter & things – I am constantly overwhelmed but piles of stuff everywhere in our home. quite frankly, we have too many THINGS. I’ll be working hard over the year to get rid of things we no longer need/use, and setting a budget to stick to that will help to reduce frivolous spending.
-
more experiences & travel – add at least one more stamp to my passport in 2020
-
focusing more on health – this includes living by an 80/20 rule of eating clean, whole foods, and becoming more educated on nutrition so that I can provide the healthiest options for myself and family.
-
being more present with my family – this bleeds into professional, but creating time blocks for social media so that I consume more of my OWN LIFE than others’ lives!
Professional Goals for 2020
-
getting out of my comfort zone – for me personally, this means creating more video content (which intimidates me) and networking more (also intimidating because I can be painfully shy and have anxiety when I’m meeting new people)
-
being more productive – 2019 was a major learning year. I had lots of ideas, but executing on them didn’t always happen. this year, I will dedicate more time to planning and ACTUALLY executing.
What are you goals for 2020? I would love to hear them below!
