Now that the toilet paper jokes are starting to subside (kind of), we are all in a very real place of ‘what do we do now’ since the coronavirus outbreak is running its course. It is so easy to get complacent and sit around doing nothing, so I’ve made a list of things to do to keep you occupied (and productive!) while we are waiting this coronavirus outbreak to level out. I tried my best to include links to Amazon prime eligible products for some of the activities mentioned below so that you don’t have to leave your house or go out into the wild Wild West aka grocery stores to pickup any items.
Organization
- Cleanout your sock drawer – get rid of any unmatched socks, or socks with wear
- Cleanout your underwear drawer – get rid of any pair that you haven’t worn in months or just need to be tossed (we all have these)
- Cleanout your nightstand – I have so many random things in my nightstand!? I realized I NEVER even look inside of it, but it would be so much better used for remotes and eyesores that are top of my nightstand instead of the junk that needs to be thrown away
- Cleanout your makeup drawer – get rid of anything you haven’t used in a long time that’s just taking up space.
- Clean your makeup brushes – this should be done on a regular basis but I never make the time for it. I use this to clean mine.
- Cleanout/organize your under sink cabinets
- Start a toy donation box – go through your kids toys and get rid of anything that they’ve outgrown, or random toys you’ve accumulated (ahem, happy meal toys) that don’t get used and donate them to a local organization.Cleanout your Tupperware drawer – OMG I should have done this years ago. We have so many pieces of Tupperware that inevitably get thrown in, unpaired, and its such an eyesore.
- Cleanout your refrigerator – we did this yesterday and I feel like a new woman. When is the last time you looked at the expiration date on all of your condiments? I had things in there that have been expired since 2018 (UM YUCK). We also took out all of the shelves and cleaned them with hot soapy water, and now our fridge looks brand new! We use these organization bins in our fridge and it helps keep things compartmentalized and in an orderly fashion.
- Organize your pantry – a few months ago I purchased this 10-piece container set, and my cabinets have never looked better! Plus its a good time to go through and get rid of things that have been expired, or that you know you will never ever use.
- Color coordinate your closet – if you haven’t already done this, what are you waiting for? My closet is arranged by color, and it makes it so easy when I’m going to look for an outfit of the day. Plus, its really appealing on the eye 🙂
- Clean out your closet! Make one pile for donation, and one for resale. I sell my clothes at Clothes Mentor for some extra cash, and donate anything they don’t take to either Goodwill or Matthew 25 Ministries.
- De-junk your junk drawer. Get rid of old papers, expired coupons, etc.
- Organize your linen closet. Have a dedicated shelf for sheets by mattress size, and add a label to easily identify which shelves are what sized.
- Clean out & wash your car. Mine is a hot mess. That is all.
Hobbies
- Read a book – when is the last time you read a book?? I’m currently reading: “Open Book” by Jessica Simpson. Other books on my list: “Big Little Lies” by Liane Moriarty. “All We Ever Wanted” by Emily Giffen. “The Girl Who Chased the Moon” by Sarah Addison Alley.
